When Amanda and Nigel Barham took on the tenancy of Heath Farm, Wenhaston in 2003 the idea was to develop a sustainable ecologically friendly way of farming. The end result being to sell all produce produced on the farm to the public therefore helping people reconnect with where their food is produced and therefore giving future customers a stake in the food they bought.
To this end organic conversion started in May 2004 with the Soil Association and a programme of fertility building began which became the backbone of the farming system.
Now, Muck And Magic raise Tamworth rare breed pigs and Norfolk Horn sheep and Red Poll cattle which are best adapted to the local conditions and which provide a soft, full-flavoured meat.
